Ska-Punk ist wie Sex: dreckig ist er nur, wenn man’s richtig macht. Und so richtig dreckig wird es immer, wenn THE ECCOS die Bühne entern! Heiße Offbeats jagen packende Punkrock-Parts, untermalt und begleitet von „trumpets on fucking fire“. Wer hier nicht tanzt, der steht auf Schlager!

Hirnloses Mitschunkeln ist bei THE ECCOS niemals angesagt. Abseits von Sommer, Sonne, Sonnenschein will die sechsköpfige Combo zum eigenständigen Denken und Handeln anregen: Miguel Guinness’ mexikanische Stimmgewalt trifft auf politische und sozialkritische Texte made in Austria.

Zweifellos ein schwieriges Unterfangen, die rohe Energie der ECCOS auf Tonträger zu konservieren, doch das Ergebnis spricht für sich. "Know the Ropes" bietet feinsten Ska-Punk, der Gute-Laune-Mucke mit politischer Message verbindet.

Mindless swinging and swaying is a definite no-go with THE ECCOS. Ska mustn’t be reduced to sunshine reggae. Instead, the band wants to encourage their audience to think and act independently: Miguel Guinness’ Mexican vocal power meets provocative lyrics made in Austria.

Without doubt, it proves a difficult task to conserve THE ECCOS’ raw energy on a record. "Know the Ropes", however, stands up to the challenge, providing top-notch ska-punk with a political message.
